György Németh, Pharmacist, Writer and Artist

György Németh (born 1959, Budapest) is a Hungarian pharmacist, writer, visual artist, founder of Szingy Gallery Budapest, and creator of the Szigetingy Philosophy. A graduate of Semmelweis University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and later an MBA from Corvinus University of Budapest, he has built a distinguished career spanning healthcare, education, art, and philosophy.

Throughout his professional life, Németh worked in pharmaceutical regulation, scientific publishing, pharmaceutical management, and education. He served at the National Institute of Pharmacy, worked as an editor of the Hungarian Medical Journal (Orvosi Hetilap), managed pharmaceutical projects and pharmacies, and taught pharmacology for several years.

Alongside his scientific career, he developed a multidisciplinary artistic practice encompassing photography, digital abstract art, and creative writing. His works explore themes of silence, light, memory, fragility, beauty, and human presence, seeking connections between inner experience and the surrounding world.

In 2011, he founded Szingy Gallery Budapest, initially as a physical exhibition space and later as a virtual platform dedicated to visual art, creative writing, and philosophical reflection. Drawing upon decades of artistic and intellectual exploration, he developed the Szigetingy Philosophy, a twelve-pillared philosophical framework centered on silence, beauty, intimacy, memory, and inner presence.

Németh’s unique contribution lies in his ability to combine scientific precision with artistic sensitivity and philosophical inquiry. His work demonstrates how the disciplines of pharmacy, art, and reflective thought can enrich one another, creating a distinctive voice within contemporary Hungarian culture.
