The Library at Haddo House

George Paul Chalmers (Scottish, 1833-1878) - The Library at Haddo House (Oil on board. Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery) - - Chalmers painted the interiors of houses and cottages like the Cranbrook Colony painters and some Dutch painters. Here, he paints the library, somewhat in disorder as if the books were in the process of being read, of Haddo House, a Scottish stately home located near Tarves in Aberdeenshire.
