Alexandra von Berckholtz (German, 1821-1899) - A view of Ortenberg Castle with Olga von Moltke drawing a landscape, 1848 (Oil on panel) - - One of the Ortenberg Castle towers was called the Malerturm as it once was the studio of the Alexandra von Berckholtz, the daughter of Gabriel L. Berckholtz, who constructed the castle from its ruins. Originally, the tower was built as a powder tower (arsenal) in the 15th century.
