Hugo Charlemont (Austrian, 1850-1939) - Still life with viola da gamba, 1911 (Oil on panel) - Brother of the painter Eduard Charlemont, this Austrian artist studied at the Academy of Vienna. His early works show a marked taste for the richly ornate and detailed interior scenes. He later turned to the painting of landscapes and still life.
